Patrick’s Official Dining in Cabo Restaurant Guide
In response to the many requests for advice on where to
eat in Cabo, I have created this guide which I hope you will find helpful.
This is not a top ten list, ranking these restaurants in order, merely a
critique on what you can expect. I’m not much on breakfast, so you’re on
your own in the mornings.
Cabo San
Lucas
Misiones de Kino What you see is not what
you get! Not very impressive from outside, but it’s the food that counts.
Excellent quality and presentation at very reasonable prices. The Chapalla
is Israel’s own creation which makes any seafood choice incredible. Ever
have homemade jalapeño poppers stuffed with fresh tuna? Located on
Guerrero, 3 blocks from The Cabo Coffee Company. Ask for a flyer with
map, or just tell Israel that Patrick said the first round is on the
house.

La Galeria One of several local
restaurants owned by Rodgiro Cabeza de Vaca, a Culinary Institute of
America graduate, they offer unique and delicious versions of authentic
Mexican food as well as continental cuisine. Located on the malecon
between the Nowhere Bar and Puerto Paraiso Mall. Tell Rudy or Rodrigo that
Patrick said the first round is on the house.

Latitude 22 Roadhouse After you tell Mike
that Patrick said to shoot the lock off his wallet and spring for the
first round, spend as much time as you want checking out all the photos.
articles and displays on the walls. You will get the very best history
lesson of Cabo San Lucas possible. Not fancy, but a lot of fun with good
substantial grub. Most tender calamari I have ever eaten, great burgers
with lots of all you can eat selections. Make the u-turn at the Pemex
station, drive past Costco and turn immediately after the electric
company.

Cabos San Lucas (cont) Mi Casa What I like best about this
restaurant is that while it is one of the most popular tourist
restaurants, which many people visit every time they come to Cabo, you
will always get a good meal at a fair price. Definitely lives up to it’s
reputation of providing very authentic Mexican food from all over the
country. Best carnitas in town. Located across the town plaza from The
Cabo Coffee Company. Reservations suggested.
   Esperanza Breathtaking! Save this for
that one special romantic dinner in Cabo. The ambience, service and food
all make this worth the price. Located at Punta Ballena at Km. 6.9 on the
carreterra. Reservations required.

Hacienda del Cuervo The young head chef
from Mexico City brings a modern twist to tradicional Mexican dishes. Very
nice atmosphere. Located on Marina Blvd. between Subway and Caliente.

Peacocks Probably the best continental
cuisine restaurant in Cabo. From beginning to end, an excellent meal. Feel
free to browse through the wine cellar before making your selection.
Reservations suggested.

Lan’s Pan-Asian food at its finest. Mike
from Latitude 22 tells us they had the best Chinese food in Chicago and
now they are doing that and more here in Cabo. Located at the top of the
twin curving staircase inside Plaza Bonita.

Nick-San This is not the best sushi
restaurant in Cabo San Lucas. This is the best sushi restaurant you will
ever eat in. I don’t even like sushi and I love the place, because the
menu is so diverse, even people like me who like their food cooked will
have a great meal. Great place for celebrity watching.

Lorenzillo’s High end seafood for the
discriminating diner. One of the very best restaurants in Cancun, they
have brought their high standards to Cabo San Lucas. In addition to the
best local fish available, they fly in fresh lobsters daily. Located above
Ultra Jewels on Marina Blvd.

The Tower Bar Great food, great service
and without question, the best view in Cabo. Located at the top of Puerto
Paraiso Mall, overlooking the marina and the entire countryside. Your
complete meal is prepared tableside flambé. Reservations suggested.

Mariscos Mazatlan This is for all the
people asking for great seafood at low prices. Plastic Tecate chairs,
soccer on the TV and a mostly local clientele, you will get huge portions
of fresh caught fish at bargain prices. Located directly across the street
from the main entrance to Puerto Paraiso Mall.

Meson de Zapata Tacos and much more. How
about five different tacos and a beer for less than ten bucks? Only a few
years old and getting better all the time.

San Jose del
Cabo
Morgan’s A long time favorite of
returning visitors and locals alike. Morgan brings her unique taste and
style to bring you a culinary delight. Reservations strongly suggested.

Morgan’s Encore What do you do when your
restaurant has to turn away diners? Open another! Located several blocks
away, Encore is more affordable, but Chef Peter McGeown delivers a
consistently superior dining experience.

Tulipan A real nice meal. Specializing in
steaks, they also have the best Chicken Caesar salad anywhere. Upstairs is
Shooter’s, a sports bar serving a great burger and cheap beer.

&
Habaneros One of the best gourmet food
values in Los Cabos. Tadd has brought his creative menu to his new
location and has become an immediate success. Highly recommended.

El Chilar Unsurpassed for creativity and
excellence. The menu literally changes monthly, always bringing new and
exciting Mexican dishes.

Local 8 A funny name for a seriously
great restaurant. A place you will want to go back to whenever you
return to Cabo. Featuring a very extensive continental menu.
